ESSEX CARS.
_________

It was agreed some time ago that we should remove the 8-cylinder Essex unit and try it out in one of our 21/25 cars. Since that time we have obtained a 6-cylinder Essex, which has proved that most of the smoothness which is obtained is due to the engine mounting rather than the number of cylinders.

At the present time our Experimental cars are being used to develop a satisfactory engine mounting for our own 20/25; controllable dampers and new carburetter.

We consider that it is not now worth while going on with the scheme of fixing the 8-cylinder Essex unit into a 20/25, and now that we have the 8-cylinder Graham-Paige we are proposing to fix up the 8-cylinder Essex and let you have it back so that it can be sold. We have had the engine on the Bed and have obtained all the information from it we require, and we should now like to get rid of it.
