To facilitate production we arranged that the position of the pedal shaft should be the same for both B. and D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} steering.
Unfortunately, with this scheme, if we give enough room in B. position, with D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} position the pedals are unnecessarily far from the dashboard. We think this is to what Sp.{Mr Spinney} refers i.e. not that they are too far away in all types.

Now, the length of the chassis was fixed for B. steering and large enclosed bodies giving in all 6 seats, so that for an open 4-seater we thought this loss of 2" or 3" in front would not matter with D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} steering.

Some short time ago I remarked that I did not think our front seats with D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} steering were luxurious enough and had decided that the best way to improve them would be to have a new position (different from B.) for the pedal shaft for the D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} position which will make the front sloping floor board smaller, and 2" or 3" further forward.

Mr. Day has this matter in hand. It naturally may have some difficulties which may cause us to be content with less. (I want it to apply to the body that is in hand at Hooper for me.)

I hope this puts the question right, if not I shall be pleased to hear from Mr. Spinney as to whether he thinks we can gain any room by altering the position of the pedals for B. steering.
