We have gone over the items which have from time to time been brought up for design modifications and the present position as regards incorporating them on the second chassis is as follows:-

ENGINE UNIT.

(1) Short duration camshaft and valve springs to suit. The design is completed and issued (Lec.4120-) for the cam forms and valve timing.
A design is in hand and almost complete for the double valve springs; it is however impossible to get these in without altering the cylinder head casting. If the cylinder head is not already cast this item may be possible for the second chassis. There are however some other design alterations which necessitate cylinder head modifications, and it would appear advisable to incorporate all the items at one time. The other items affecting the cylinders head are as follows:- (2/3/4/5)

(2) Better oil drainage from cylinder head - the design is in hand for this.

(3) Reduced oil feed to valve gear to overcome over-oiling complaint - the design is in hand for this.

(4) Modifications to clean up the cylinder head casting to facilitate enamelling etc. - design in hand.

(5) Modifications may be necessary to overcome the complaint of water restriction. At the moment, owing to lack of information, it is not possible for design alterations to proceed.
