Copy. HOPE, HARTOPE & COMPANY. Chemical Manufacturers. Refiners of HIGH GRADE LUBRICATING OILS & GREASES. Head Office:- 43, Gower Street, LONDON. W.C.1. 22nd November.1923. The Houdaille Hydraulic Suspension Co. Ltd. 41, New Bond Street, London. W.1. Dear Sirs, Having used Houdaille Shock Absorbers on a Lancia car for some time, I was anxious to see if they would show an equal improvement to the springing on a Rolls-Royce. The latter car I have been running now for three years, and as you know, the suspension is as perfect as it is possible to be, but since fitting the Houdaille Shock Absorbers, I was amazed at the improvement in the springing. Not only is the bouncing effect entirely eliminated, but the car holds the road much more effectively than it did, and the steering also is vastly improved, although previously I thought it was perfection. I can, without hesitation, thoroughly recommend your Shock Absorbers to any Rolls owner, and I am surprised the Rolls-Royce Company do not fit them as standard, as they are always anxious to have the best. I shall be quite glad for you to make any use of this letter you care to. Yours faithfully, (signed) R.{Sir Henry Royce} J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Hope. ----------------- | ||
