defective. "We have had it on charge here for about thirty-six hours and it now does its work all right, but doubtless you will wish to give it further attention on its return to Derby. During the process of starting by hand, it appeared to me that one cylinder had considerably less compression than the other five. The steering I found to be very good indeed, and quite the best 'New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I' I have yet tried. I found it quite free at low speeds and did not experience any severe joggling at high speeds. The exhaust from the front seats was quite satisfactory and when running with the Governor lever right back I did not get any spitting or explosion from the exhaust on the over-run. The cooling was quite satisfactory and even with the high atmospheric temperatures there was still an ample reserve of radiator shutter opening. We have asked for the 40/50 h.p. 'Silver Ghost' louvred bonnet to be sent down here and perhaps it would be convenient for the driver who brings this to return with car No. 44-PK. However, whatever arrangements you may decide to make, 44-PK is available at Bond Street Garage for return to Derby whenever you send for it. CWB. Cwl. | ||
