Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} 4308 E/PSN.1/MN.9.4.36. P. Dodd. Please follow up. Pm Phantom III Carburetter and Petrol Supply. We send you herewith LeC 5075 showing a float chamber vent pipe coupled up to the top of the air silencer on the above chassis. The object of this is to overcome hot starting troubles similar to those which have been experienced on the 25/30, should they become apparent on this chassis. It will be noted that one scheme is shown for using with existing float chamber drain pipe banjos, and a final scheme which is to be used when the existing supply of float chamber banjos have been used up, in which the same banjo is used for the vent pipe and drain pipe. We should be pleased if RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} would have this scheme rigged up experimentally, and the release of the parts likely to be affected should be held up for future production as far as possible. We also send you herewith LeC 5076 showing a heat insulating washer between the carburetter petrol filter and the pipe clip on which it is supported. We should be pleased if RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} would rig up this scheme so that tests can be conducted to find the value of the washer in reducing the temperature of the carburetter filter body. E/PSN. Att: LeC.5076. LeC.5075. Have noted these parts and will keep in touch. LEC.5075 - float chamber vent to air silencer has been fitted to 32.EX. No snags in fitting Ho/F Dodd. | ||
