x634 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}8/KW. 13th April, 1935. C.W. Ward Esq., Messrs. Park, Ward & Co.Ltd., 473, High Road Willesden, LONDON, N.W.10. Dear Mr. Ward, Thanks very much for the samples of Balsam wool asbestos lined. I quite agree with you that the price is rather high compared with felt, but we are pushing ahead here with a scheme for doing the dashboards at Derby as part of the chassis fittings, and as we should only require approximately 12 sq. ft. per dashboard, I do not think we should quibble at the extra cost per car. The remainder of the car would of course be lined with felt. Mr. Robotham has expressed a desire to have two dashboards insulated with this material, and I wonder if you could obtain sufficient of it, say 30 sq. ft., for us to fit up and try at Derby. Hoping we are not troubling you too much. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
