EXTRACT FROM :- v7260 BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}) FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}? DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M26.6.30. c. to ZP. JLM. c. to C. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} REPORT ON TESTS OF COMPLETED CARS. X.7770. X.5770. (10). Concerning P.2 bonnet we are repeatedly having it pointed out to us that the material of the louvred bonnet is much softer than that of the standard bonnet, in fact so soft that one can bend it by hand, and that the bonnet clips and lock pull holes in it, and the bonnet also bends above the stiffener, thus :- The stiffeners would be better if they ran up to the side hinge as indicated dotted. Is it possible for us to have a less ductile aluminium for this bonnet as this is causing serious difficulties at coachbuilders and on finished cars. | ||
