Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/AD7.5.32 contd. -2- We therefore tried plunger springs 1 1/2 times the standard strength. With thick oil in the box the cones were unable to synchronise third speed but on using a lower level of engine oil the change was quite good provided one did not change too quickly when, of course, the gears could be crashed. This allows us the alternatives of using a small cam angle 10 or 15° or rollers in the plungers in conjunction with stronger springs. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/cry. | ||
