Exhaust System.

This was very good, free from booms and entirely satis-
factory. Mr. remarked that the twin system would make
a good sales point.

The petrol consumption for the whole trip worked out to
the excellent figure of 16 m.p.g.

Oil consumption was negligible.

Tyres.

Great difficulty was experienced with tyres, heat being
the troublesome factor. 3 tyre treads came completely
loose and in one instance the tread came off completely
winding up round the rear brake drum.

Tyre mileage figures for these failures are given on a
separate sheet.

14.B.V. Vanvooren.Coachwork.

The following criticisms were made to Messrs. Vanvooren
at the conclusion of our test run on 14.B.V. Some of these
alterations are to be carried out on 14.B.V. immediately, others
will form useful data for future cars.

(1) Air vents through the dashboard not satisfactory, air
is pre-heated and does not arrive in sufficient quantities
Scuttle vents were asked for.

(2) Wheel shields on the rear, requires a stronger and more
shielded form of fastener, stones have battered the present
ones until they are entirely out of commission.

(3) The present arrangement for holding open the luggage
boot lid{A. J. Lidsey} is hopeless, we have asked for the hinges to be
made so that the lid{A. J. Lidsey} toggles over 10 - 15 degrees, we
think this will be a more suitable arrangement.

(4) The bonnet slips were too light and of too thin a gauge
material, the stay hooks cut through on the front fasteners
and we finished the test run minus slips to the front of
the bonnet.
