C O P Y. To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Dm.{D. Munro}1/MG.28.2.36. The Vokes Air Filter RB.{R. Bowen}2772 on the Air Silencer is very expensive. They have quoted 7/10d. each for the filter on the Bentley - this is as costly as the aluminium casing when the latter is welded and complete with holes. We have made very strenuous protests, but they inform us that the part is special and involves a lot of hand folding due to deeper pins. The filter for the 20/25 costs 4/3d. We are wondering if there is any other alternative, as we are anxious to reduce this cost if at all possible. At present we seem to be in the hands of Messrs. Vokes. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
