To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. RG.{Mr Rowledge} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X. 9940 S E C R E T. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M11.4.24. E.A.C. RE. BRAKE OPERATING SYSTEM M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} DES. 60. X. 9940 In view of our experience of the car with the agreed scheme of braking on Tuesday last we think we should be prepared to find that a greater leverage is required between the pedal and the brakes than the existing 40/50., and we suggest that we should have a multiplying lever as shewn on N.sch.1783, but with proportions enabling us to vary this leverage with a view to ascertaining the best compromise between pedal pressure and the allowance for wear. We send N.sch.1787 herewith. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
