PHANTOM 11. W.W. CONVERSION SCHEME.

Working direct off the W.W. schemes without detail drawings, RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} got this scheme fitted to a car in a remarkably short time. It was ready on Thursday, and after carrying out several tests and speaking to W.W. on the telephone, we sent the car to W.W. last night so that it would be there thismorning for them to examine.

The result of the engine mounting is very good. It has come out to what we expect. There is no essential difference in this scheme and the one we tried on the yellow car (24-EX) except that the front support of the engine is taken off the wheel case instead of off the crankcase.

The trouble we anticipate is that we believe we may have a certain amount of trouble with the bonnet knocking over rough roads.

Although the scheme has been made to the W.W. drawings the details of course are not identical to those which will be fitted on to the production cars. For instance, the tube we have used is a thicker gauge because it is the only size we had available.

As far as we know, unless W.W. make any criticisms we shall push forward with a set of parts made to By's. drawings and when these are fitted, send the car to France.
