X1455 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} c. WOB. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} re Bentley S.U. Carburetters. We send you herewith: LeC.3589 shewing modifications to the floatchamber needle and seating. This is in accordance with memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/WB.{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}13/KT.27.7.33, the needle being increased to .125 at the seating, and six release holes put in the needle housing. This is as much as can be done without altering the die for the floatchamber lid{A. J. Lidsey}, and these modifications represent the greatest increase to remove the restriction. The worst limitation is the stroke of the needle which cannot be increased without a redesign to the float lever operation. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} | ||
