HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} C. to DJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} PHANTOM PISTON RINGS. X741 X7040✓ R2/M23.7.28. We want to get more pressure on the cylinder walls by deeper rings, with wider gap. Get some to give an increase of 50% by being .025 deeper and 10% more gap. The maximum stress of the ring will be greater. I suggest say about .160 deep, and running deflection at gap of .6. I think there is much in wall pressure per unit area. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
