x260 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Bentley Accident. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}14/E13.2.36 Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} I felt that I would like Jack Barclay to know what you told me on the telephone to-day as soon as possible but, as he was resting at home, I did not want to worry him. I have, therefore, written him as per the attached copy. You will see I have suggested that he might like to telephone you. I did this partly because I thought you could explain the matter technically more convincingly than I can do and also because I believe you rather want to ask him as to the exact conditions under which it happened. I have given instructions for all Bentleys (and my own car) to have leather straps round the bumper and dumb iron as a temporary expedient until we know how we are going to deal with the matter.
