856. c. Bm. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}10/G.5.5.38. PRESSED STEEL WHEELS. FRONT END OF CAR. B.50. PD.167 herewith shows the application of the pressed steel wheel to the front end of the B.50 car. The only new part involved is the hub, since the brakes, pivot, bearings etc. are not altered by this scheme. The brake drum shown on PD.125 should be used, but the shape in the neighbourhood of the water excluder should be checked to make sure it agrees with this scheme and PD.132, that part of the drum being close on full lock to the lower triangle outer bearing of the front suspension. Any alteration that may be found to be necessary here should be applied to the rear also, the same drum being used both front and rear. Until a definite and final decision has been arrived at with regard to the tyre, wheel and rim sizes to be fitted it is not possible to make a final drawing of the actual wheel and ornamental centre to be used.
