re: STREAMLINE-BENTLEY.

We wish to confirm that you will send down and fit the revised stub axles for this chassis at Messrs. Park Ward & Co., so that we may fit up the front wings. The fitter who brings down the stub axles will take templates of the wing stay shapes so that the stays may be bent and treated in Derby.

We will notify you by telegram as soon as the wings are ready so that when the fitter arrives he may take these templates. The special features which will be needed on this chassis over and above the modifications which will be necessary to bring it up to the present standardised Bentley Specification are:-

(1) We would like to lower the steering wheel about an inch below the lowest position with the standard column when it is at its lowest adjustment. We suggest that this can be done by elongating the holes in the steering box flange and the hot air excluding flange on the front of the dash, but it will entail the steering column support bracket casting on the back of the dash having an elongated base which will permit of longer slots.

(2) The brake lever has to be set-in about an inch at the top. We have done this on the chassis ourselves and it will be seen that even in this position there is no difficulty in operating the gear lever except when the hand brake is badly worn. We do not think that this contingency need be considered.

(3) A higher gear axle will be required.
