To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} D E R B Y. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} LES- Levallois Sr/VA6/ET.18.6.36 Re: SHOCK DAMPER KNOCKS. Many thanks for your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les3/KW.4.6.36 and photograph attached. From experience which we have now gained, there is no doubt that the complaints received concerning shock absorber knocks on 20/25 HP. and Bentley chassis have been due, in the greater number of cases, to a slight slackness which has existed in the bushes and the shaft of the main lever. We have overcome the trouble on several cars by fitting close fit hand scraped bushes. Sr/VA. | ||
