-2- Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ. 4.5.31. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} better than the Cadillacs' have with that type of engine. What would you say at the limitations of the eight cyl.?. I am hoping to get R.{Sir Henry Royce} to try a twelve cylinder Cadillac on this side. He is rather prejudiced about the 45° angle. You will be interested to know that we have now accepted the position that we shall give up magnetos entirely. It has taken a long time to sink in, but we shall make no more engines with magnetos. Steering. We are rather interested in the Buick steering. We would say that on the whole the steering of American cars has improved tremendously in the last two years. One might criticise them for being too low geared, but they are free from shocks and will self-centre. What in your opinion has brought about this? I am getting Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 'to reply to you on shock absorbers and frame 'jellying'. We are finding considerable difficulty now in getting rid of big cars but fortunately the aero engine business is in a comfortable state. Please remember me to Mrs. Olley and to CWB. if you see him. Yours sincerely, | ||
