re Steering Pendulum Levers.

Further to my Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/JH.20.8.43. re the above, I now learn that dies to the following numbers only can be located.

FB.4113. - 5.325 long lever. As stated in Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/JH.20.8.43. this lever can be used on all B.V. cars in a strengthened form. A design should be got out forthwith.

FW.1330/31. - 5.875 long lever. According to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH.2/SW.16.4.43. this lever is an alternative to FW.1878 and therefore the die should be suitable for resinking. The serration setting is - 46' instead of -36' and will not matter. A new design of strengthened lever should be issued without delay. This lever covers 30.G.VII.

FB.92 and Fw.1559/60/61. I have had a look at these dies but I fear they are for very much earlier cars and are of no use.

You will appreciate that we have no 4.825 long lever for the B.50 cars. In which case, after discussion with FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} it is agreed we should use a 5.325 long lever but machined with a serration setting of +1° -38'. 3.B.50. is running with a B.V. lever at the moment.

Time is going on and I am anxious to get some new levers at the earliest possible date.
