To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c.c. to BJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c.c. to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Y8779 R2/M8.10.27. SPORTS PHANTOM, AND NEXT 10,000 MILES CAR. X. 8350 X. 8774 X. 8940b X. 8010 It is realised that if we intend to try out certain improvements for the above at any time, it will be less expensive to get every thing possible on the next 10,000 miles car, and so avoid making two bites at it, so that every part mentioned in the whole four categories, should be put in hand as soon as possible, and as many fitted as will not delay those of the first two categories from being tested in France at the first possible moment. The great thing is the crankchamber, but I know no reason why all other parts should not go in parallel, including the back axle alterations. I understand that BJ. agrees to the necessary jigs and tools being made at once. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
