Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}11/KT.10.2.33. 25-EX. We understand that no work is to be done on this car for the time being. As explained to you previously we are anxious to examine parts of the engine to see the effects of running on Aero Shell oil, and we hoped to be able to do this when the engine was stripped for examination and repairs. As this is not now possible, we should like you to dismantle the bottom half and crankpin oilers in order that we can examine same for the amount of sludge deposited etc. The oil can be drained from the bottom half and collected, but the bottom half should not be washed or disturbed in any way; the same remark applies to the crankpins and oilers. Will you please let us know when this work is done, and we will arrange for the Shell oil people to come along and examine it. The order number for this job is 54302.
