CLUTCH LINING TESTS CONT'D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}

Test of Bentley clutch lining RAD.11
chemically treated by Ferodos.

RESULT.

260 slips 3000-2000 r.p.m. wear = 0.005.
355 " 3000-500 r.p.m. " = 0.100.

The clutch behaved perfectly throughout the 3000-2000 r.p.m. slips and had a very good coefficient of friction.

There was very bad slipping from the first to 20th of the 3000-500 slips and at approx. every 7th slip till 90 slips were complete. From then onwards the clutch was free from slipping.

From the point of view of slipping these chemically treated linings are equivalent to linings heat treated at 600°F.{Mr Friese}

The durability of these linings is also of the same order of that of linings heat treated at 600°F.{Mr Friese}
