Dear Sirs, With further reference to your letter of the 4th instant, we are sorry that we have not been able to write you earlier but the experiments have taken longer than we anticipated. These have now been completed however, the tests having been carried out on a battery of our 6.EMK.13-G type, which we consider will be suitable and which we will be able to despatch without delay. Discharging at 470 amperes the time for the overall battery voltage to fall to 8 volts at 8° F. {Mr Friese} is two seconds. We do not know if 4 volts drop is a critical figure and as a matter of interest we carried on the discharge until there was a total drop of 6 volts, i.e. an overall battery voltage of 6 and the battery discharged for approximately one minute under these conditions. We could, of course, give you an increased performance by building up a special battery but as mentioned above, the type suggested is the best that we can put forward to give reasonable delivery.
