We send herewith drg. Lec. 2483 shewing the oil relief unit, gallery pipe, and connections to main bearings, also giving revised section of crankchamber.

This crankchamber will have the water pump, ignition tower, and throttle governor, together with the carb., on the steering side of the engine, and the dynamo and magnetos, together with the exhaust pipes, on the other side of the engine.

The bottom half has been made with curved section walls with a view to eliminating drumming. We may also introduce a similar feature into the floor of the bottom half. The upper half does not require this treatment as the diaphragms are of much smaller area, and of thicker material, also they are supported and stiffened in a number of ways by ribs and bosses.

We shall send revision drgs. in due course shewing what modifications will be required to the designs already sent through for the wheelcase, cyl. blocks, cyl. head etc.

The moving parts, such as the crankshaft, conn. rods and pistons, are unaffected.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
