To By/RD. c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} 6017. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}8/JH.23.5.38. re Ignition Coils. Please note that the information contained in our memo. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}8/JH.12.5.38. was not intended to represent running temperatures of the coils concerned, but to show the advantage to be gained by the use of a metal case in place of the existing bakelite case. The use of a metal case also facilitates the complete sealing off of the windings with a bitumen compound, which, as explained in our memo. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}5/MH.{M. Huckerby}26.10.37. tends for a better and more reliable coil. We are now commencing a series of tests to determine the actual running temperatures of the various coils.
