Description of Parts: WATER CONNECTIONS - (1) RUBBER HOSE CONNECTIONS SUPPLIED BY LEYLAND & BIRMINGHAM RUBBER CO. LTD. TO SPECIFICATION 1693K (2) Water joint washer material Klingerite instead of Dermatine. Origin: To avoid swelling disintegration and general deterioration of the hose over a long period of service, particularly if in contact with oil or grease. Report of Experimental Test: (2) To avoid swelling of washer and consequent reduction of waterway area. Run 20,000 miles satisfactorily on 35-EX car 10,000 in England and 10,000 miles in France. Will shortly have completed 10,000 miles on 6-B-IV and 3-B-IV Bentley cars in France.
