RE VISIT TO MORRIS RADIATORS.

With reference to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}7/CH.13.3.40. we have spent so much time on heaters up to the present without getting anything satisfactory that I think it is essential that we should concentrate on one particular type until we can at least offer the public something which is reasonably silent, durable and effective.

The basic outline of such a heater has already been agreed by us.

Until we have attained this first objective I think it would be a mistake to dissipate our energies by attempting to test every other heater on the market.

It is only by getting half a dozen heaters of the same type running on the various experimental cars that we shall really learn how reliable they are.

With regard to the Morris fin-and-tube block, I am enthusiastic about any matrix that will give increased dissipation at low speeds, as this will ease out fan situation, which is one of the biggest problems we have to face.

I would therefore like this fin-and-tube radiator to be used exclusively for the new cars which we are building, provided the price is right.

Before committing ourselves, however, we shall carry out a test on the first matrix to ensure that it comes up to expectations.
