Replacement of a failed engine for chassis B-47-HM and its despatch to Kingsbury.

Chassis No. B-47-HM{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} at Kingsbury In accordance with telephone instructions received at 5 P.m. yesterday from RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/BM, we have dismantled from a production chassis on test a complete engine unit i.e. with clutch but exclusive of carburetter air silencer, exhaust down pipe and fan belt to Drg. EB3069 for despatch to Kingsbury. We understand this is required to replace the existing unit in which one of the connecting rods has failed after 796 miles and which will be returned to the Works in due course for rectification and further use on production. Please issue the necessary instructions for the despatch of this unit to Kingsbury. Meantime will RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/Sot please send to this Dept. the next passed unit engine for fitting to the chassis out of which we have taken the engine above referred to as this chassis is already due for delivery.
