LeC.1845, - STARTER ACTUATING DEVICE

This seems quite right except that I cannot quite understand how and where the solenoid casing in the casting becomes tight, and how the coil inside it is held still - (the single locking plate hardly sufficient).

First we might make a slow taper press fit once for good and always.

Caulked here.

The coil with its wire ends is pushed in, and clamping plate same as your locking plate, but with longer tail. Or could the coil flange have lugs thus - (3 preferred with spring washers.)

Iron.

This latter convenient in every way I think.
