Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 14th. instant with reference to steering gear rollers.

Our bearing number you have quoted is N.2940. This is not a steering roller, and we presume you have in mind our bearing No. N.2904, your Part No. F.89670.

We are quite willing to grind three of these outer races and supply the necessary inner races and balls, and to cover the possibility of scrap due to grinding errors, four outer races would be sufficient.

As you know, we have in the past found a considerable percentage of material scrap, and to be quite safe, therefore, it will be best for you to let us have six races, so as to avoid any risk of not getting the required quantity of good parts.

Yours faithfully,
THE HOFFMANN MANUFACTURING CO. LTD.
