EFC2/AD15.10.30 contd. -2- It will be observed that the Symon's varnished paper is the best all round, although the glazed paper is the best we have tested as regards leakage conductance. The plain white paper wax impregnated is still poor. We consider the use of an absorbent paper afterwards impregnated with wax to be preferable to other papers in that all weak places or holes are filled up with the wax when the coil is completed. Symon's paper which they use for their waxed and varnished papers before treating, should be ideal for this job. The only snag with the use of absorbent papers is that meticulous care would have to be exercised to prevent the paper being moisture laden i.e. the paper would have to be baked or dried before winding and the complete coil baked before wax impregnating". Would it be possible for you to obtain more technical information from the makers as regards the electrical properties of these insulating papers? EFC. | ||
