B.60 Cast Iron Engine.

Camshaft.

9-B-V has recently developed a camshaft rattle, and upon inspection, the thrust button was found to have worn a considerable flat on the spherical face.

The thimble is detailed with a generous limit on it's length and consequently the extent of wear could not be readily found.

This camshaft incidentally was running with only .004 end float when assembled.

Since we shall be having a two-way thrust on all future engines Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} has expressed a wish that we should incorporate a scheme similar to that for Myth as there will be probably more tendency to rattle on the 4 than the 6 cylinder.

Will you kindly let me have your views upon this matter.

I propose to make the button and plunger on the Myth in S/ZN with hardened faces.
