TECHNICAL CONFERENCE HELD ON 13TH JULY, 1933.

FUELS.

Please see the attached copy of a letter which has now been received from the A.M.S.R.

You will note that the knock ratings of the fuels are now definitely specified instead of the wide range given in Fg.4/DM.{D. Munro}12.7.33.

With regard to the 87 octane fuel, it is suggested that it is an urgent matter to type-test an engine with this fuel at the best rating which can be obtained so that we may put ourselves in a position to force the Air Ministry to introduce this fuel for the R.A.F. as it is stated they will do in the second paragraph of the A.M.S.R.'s letter.
