We have fitted a needle .122 X .080. There is a definite flat spot at 25-30 MPH with this needle. The car came in with knocks during this morning and after dismantling we sent you the following telegram: HIVES ROYCAR DERBY TOP HALF BEARINGS OF ALL CONNECTING RODS METAL BROKEN AWAY THREE FOUR FIVE SIX VERY BAD CANNOT CONTINUE TO RUN STOP SHALL WE GET PARIS TO MAKE BEARINGS STOP TWO TOP PISTON RINGS BROKEN Hancock No 3,4,5, & 6 top half of the connecting rod bearings the metal has almost gone there is an outer ring left. The condition is similar to those taken out of 2 PER II but considerably worse. We are meanwhile examining the slipper wheel and shall also tighten up the damper of the spring drive of Clutch. We have received your telegram, your reports suggest spray on bottom half small valve please confirm on ribbed bottom half also a maximum figure best condition Robotham. We have examined the slipper wheel and find that it has been working satisfactory. The ac'me thread has been fouling the housing causing some of the oil leak from the front.
