CONFIDENTIAL. 19th. May 1939. BY.17/N. Messrs. Park Ward & Co.Ltd., 473, High Road, Willesden, London N.W.10. For the attention of Mr.Ward. Dear Sirs, Re: Production B.5. We confirm herewith that during Messrs. Evernden's and Draper's visit on Thursday last, we left with you a blueprint F.CD.1374 shewing the rear end of Bentley 5 body, with a raised boot lid{A. J. Lidsey} hinge, similar to Ripple, to suit the Cornercroft rear number plate. We also left a tracing shewing the Cornercroft number plate fitted to the Bentley 5 bodies ordered. It was agreed to fit the scheme using Bentley 5 bodies ordered and fitting a separate box to carry the rear number plate, will you please look into the question of getting the boot lid{A. J. Lidsey} support arms modified, to obtain the correct visibility with the lid{A. J. Lidsey} in the open position. Will you please let us know the cost of fitting the number plate to production bodies. We also requested you to urge your wing stay jig, as the contractors will soon be requiring it for bending the stays to the shape you require. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
