TBB3/L41212 December 4th 1912. Report on Special Parts fitted to Chassis 2100E. 3. VENTILATION SCHEME :- An open dashboard and louvred side guards and louvred bonnet are fitted. I should like to draw your attention to the appearance of the louvres in the bonnet; I think they gape too much when one is looking directly at the car from the side, and that the louvre should be made to overlap the flat part of the bonnet. I have had made a sample louvre in which the metal was not split until it had been beaten into the deep groove which ultimately forms the louvre. After this operation the groove is split down one side and the beaten part of the metal opened upwards. By adopting this process the metal which forms the louvre is stretched and will form sufficient overlap to prevent the present gaping. This entails more work but if it can be satisfactorily accomplished will, I think, give a better job. X 55. | ||
