G/W. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 26 Ryc.2/Mc. 27.6.40. Rifle Boring I was at Armstrong Whitworth yesterday at Newcastle and they tell me they are going to make the Bofors gun. The plant they expect to be in almost any time now I gathered and the boring machines they thought were coming in first. Major Bird, the General Manager, promised to write to you on the matter. This would obviously be a better borer than ours as it will be heavier. He seemed quite willing to do some boring for us if the machines are available. Ryc.
