1305 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FWK.6/JH. 13th. January, 1939. Ellison Insulations, Perry Barr, Birmingham.20. For the attention of Mr. Reynalds. Dear Sirs, We have recently received from you some of your 'bakelized' material you are using for the interleaving of road springs on cars. At the moment we are trying a variety of materials for this purpose ourselves. So far we have not found any material that will reach the standards we require. The two most important considerations are long life under severe conditions without using gaiters, and cheapness. We think your material may stand up to our tests, and we are therefore asking you to be good enough to send us a length of 9 feet by 2" wide. The thickness I believe, is .015" approximately. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
