6153 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}4/JH. 4th. November, 1938. Messrs. Ferranti Ltd., Moston, Manchester.10. For the attention of Mr.G.A.Hall. ref. GAH/LL.31.10.38. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 31st. ult. and also acknowledge receipt of the second set complete with Jiffy plates and Aerial. We note you have given us more bass response on this set and will let you have our remarks as soon as we have chance to try it out. We note your remarks concerning the Dial, and will bear in mind that it is hand made, it does suit our Facia Board much better than the standard type. We are pleased to hear you are fitting a tone control on the third set, and would like this fitting on the speaker as in the latest Philco set. We are having trouble trying to find a place for your pack unit on the Bentley, at the moment the side space on the dash is filled by the heater. There is no room on the other side. Would you mind if this unit was suspended in the frame? We don't want it in the back of the car, as this type of car will be owner driven and thus the controls should be at hand, near to the driver. We should be glad to receive any suggestions on this matter. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
