-3- I advise using the standard set up and change to this after development. I don't think the cost difference is material. I think these brakes will be about 2/3 as effective as those on B.V. The big problem will be to get the pull off spring pressure low enough to deceive us into thinking the brakes more effective than they are. They will be rather more spongy, but the heating effect and wear ought to be less and so compensate for this. A.F.Martindale. P.S. You might get away with a hand brake hanging from the facia board and a bowden wire because of the wrapping brakes. in which case put up the leverage to 40 : 1 It is now about 60 or 70 : 1. as you know.
