Dear Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer},

When I saw you at Derby last week I think I mentioned that I had got the Rover car back.

The squeak in the back axle still persists but is nothing like as bad as it was before, and the roughness which was very noticeable in the old differential has disappeared.

Rovers sent detailed instructions to the local garage, and did everything possible to help me, which I know was entirely due to your good offices, and I appreciate very much the trouble you took on my behalf.

I am still using B.50.LS which has been a great boon during the past few weeks as I have had to make several journeys to Derby and Hucknall with Air Ministry people.

When you want the car back doubtless you will tell me.

I am taking Foord to Derby on Friday, and we shall be returning to Harrogate Saturday afternoon, so perhaps I shall see you. I would like a word with you on the question of our research contracts as I believe you are interesting yourself in this side of the job, and there are certain contracts which Tweedie is anxious to liquidate, i.e. those which have no bearing on immediate problems. Possibly he discussed this matter with you when you saw him in Harrogate.

Blb.
