P.II. CHASSIS - POINT REQUIRING URGENT ATTENTION.

With reference to EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 19/MH. {M. Huckerby} 16.11.33.

(1) Designs have been completed which will improve (a) tappet noise, (b) gear noise. Experimentally we are tackling the question of noise from the fan and can undoubtedly reduce this. We shall experiment with improving the fan belt clearance at the same time.
There are no prospects at present of reducing the noise from the exhaust heated hot spot when picking up, or of improving camshaft squawks.

(2) With regard to your point re. steering control, the adjustable dampers which have just been standardised will materially improve this complaint.
