To EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} From Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c.c. to C. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} x7260 Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}17/Els.2.30. X.7500 X.7260 X.7250 X.7830 X.7770 Re. Revised Bonnet and Dash Phantom II. I am in receipt of EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/10.2.30. It does not seem to have been the general opinion that the radiator with the shallowed top tank was an improvement, and one would like to look at it again on this further experimental mock-up before a decision is given. With regard to a radiator with sloping sides to suit the taper of the bonnet, I am quite agreeable that this should be kept as a separate issue for investigation and attention after we have seen the further mock-up or experiment of what one may refer to as the Segrave modification modified and improved. I fully appreciate the necessity for a modification which will give us the higher waist line and that for the reasons mentioned in your memo. we are rather worse off on this important feature from a coachwork design point of view on Phantom II than on Phantom I. Please let me know as soon as the revised scheme has been send to Derby. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
