5 long and of small dia that trouble might be encountered with torsional (?) disturbances if a small no of heavy weights were used, rather than 12 smaller weights. (d) Masked valves. "We know of no one using masked inlet valves." Am sending this as written, to save time, since we are approaching the Labor Day weekend. If you want to make copies you might send me one. Have seen Kaye Don & young Platford and am going to try to see the race this afternoon. I sure wish them luck as does at least half of Detroit, since Gar Wood has had things too much his own way. (a) RR of Am is gradually breaking up & drifting this way. Expect to see Burton here soon, though with what concern is still doubtful. Caswell is trying to sell Packards in Springfield, but since Spfld is broke I expect he will have tough sledding. (b) We had a L.H. P.II here the other day & thought it the best motor car we had ever seen. On the theory of virtue being its own reward statements (a) and (b) seem contradictory. | ||
