Oy1-E-42026 -4- April 20th, 1926 We found a tendency to low speed wobble as we should expect with the great pivot-lean, but we consider from a short test (E.W.C., Knapton, and Oy.) that the riding front and rear is somewhat better and the steering at least no worse than in Test I. Springs of Test I were used. Although it is doubtful whether this method can be used safely with front brakes (because of the change in length of the operating cables) we are going further with it to make the shackling arrangement and pivot lean as nearly as possible like the present standard. If further test confirms the improvement we shall have to put the matter up to England for their test. Meanwhile there is no doubt that we shall have to carry on with 1701 shackled at the front, but with the vertical shackle. MO/E COPY Oy. | ||
