ORIGINAL FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} S E C R E T. "SS{S. Smith}" BRAKE DIFFERENTIALS. X7420 X7380 When R.{Sir Henry Royce} was in France he instructed us to make some modifications to the original arrangement of the brake differentials, and we send herewith N. schemes 2666/7/8., shewing the proposed alterations. N. scheme 2666. shews the revised mounting of the differential shafts, in order to do which we have slightly altered the line of the brake rods, and it also shews the dogs in place of a slotted link. N. scheme 2667. shews the modification to the hand brake lever which R.{Sir Henry Royce} wished to be straight, and strengthened up, and N. scheme 2668. shews the modification to the drilling of the lightening holes in the 'X' shaped cross member on account of the new line of the brake rods. We have also shewn the 'X' shaped cross member bolts re-arranged for greater accessibility. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
