Dear Mr. Robotham,
Thanks for your letter of the 30th inst. and I note you are putting in hand the induction pipe for the large carburetter.
As regards separate slow running from the rest of the mixture, we have done a certain amount of work on this and candidly with not very satisfactory results. The best arrangement up to the present has been an entirely separate slow running carburetter. This, however, necessitates a gas tight throttle being fitted. I am enclosing sketch of what I consider the best form of slow running carburetter, and although I have not actually incorporated it with the S.U. I do not think there is any reason at all why it should not be perfectly satisfactory.
