6119 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}2/L. 7.3.30. Messrs Delco-Remy & Hyatt Ltd., 111, Grosvenor Road, London. . . . For the attention of Mr. R.{Sir Henry Royce} D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Rushton. Dear Sirs, You have kindly supplied us from time to time, with an 6-cylinder 662.W. type distributor. We would now like to develop one of your 8-cylinder type for a car and wondered if you could put your hand on a suitable unit. The fixing spigot and drive dimensions are the same as for the 6-cylinder type to DR.1868; also the direction of rotation will be clockwise, looking on the rotor. If this is not possible we can, by a slight machine operation, make the 662.W. type do for the present. Will you be able to supply us with 4 units in the near future? We would be very grateful for your assistance. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS ROYCE, LTD., | ||
